If this project is on one hand a narrative interrogation of 21st century urbanism through the lens of NOISE, SOUND, and SILENCE, it is on the other a meta-narrative analysis of architectural media and representation.

Architects are not builders, they are first and foremost communicators; image-making is integral to our practice.

However, the current state of image-making in architecture entertains a myth of SILENCE. Architects are subservient to clients and developers in the way that every image we produce is supposed to communicate some form of resolution.

Resolution is the reduction of NOISE.

Every drawing and image I have produced engages in the opposite, or NOISE as a methodology.

The MONSTER is a shapeshifter; its power and relevancy as a cultural product come from its ability to take on multiple forms.

Godzilla is a dangerous and terrifying creature, but also a plush toy sold in children’s stores.

Each attempt to represent the CITYEATER is a passage through a new medium.

The MEDIUM is NOISY; it alters the signal and causes the MONSTER to shapeshift.

As a result, each variant of the CITYEATER casts a different image and produces a distinct SOUND.

The MONSTER has many faces.
